- Brush 2 times a day for at least two minutes.
- Floss your teeth. Flossing is important.
- Use an electronic toothbrush such as a WaterPik. Research has shown that WaterPik and other electronic toothbrushes significantly reduce more plaque than manual toothbrushes.
- Visit your dentist for cleanings and check-ups. We encourage you that you should your dentist more than the twice a year recommended by the American Dental Association.
- Eat healthy foods. Good eating and nutrition can help in reducing your risk for gum disease.
- Avoid sugary drinks. Sodas have proven to cause dental caries in which it can lead to gum disease and other issues.
